Woman Kidnapped In Pattaya Over Debt

A woman was kidnapped from Pattaya and imprisoned in Buriram province after she had borrowed money from an illegal money lender but could re-pay the debt.

PATTAYA – June 24, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];-at 14.00 pm. Pol.Maj.Gen.Sanit Mahathaworn, Pol.Col.Suppatee Boonkrong, Pol.Col.Chaiporn Thongnapiang, Pol.Lt.Col.Pumsit Singha-theun and police officers made a statement about the arrest of Ms.Tanaporn Pongsawang aged 24 and Mr Anucha Suang-tho aged 28 who were illegal money loaners. They had kidnapped a debtor and imprisoned them in Buriram province. Ms.Yupin Boong-ngaw aged 36 the victim along with her mom and daughter notified the police to arrest them.

 

Later on June 19 Ms Nipaporn Wongsanao aged 20 notified the police that Ms Yupin her mom had been kidnapped by a money lender gang in Soi 13, Pattaya beach road. She was taken in a Chevrolet Colorado truck to a house in Buriram province where she was held against her will.

 

On June 20 the gang told Ms Yupin to call her daughter to ask for 300,000 baht for her release. Plus they also asked for the (60,000 baht) deposit to give Mr Chang who was Ms Tanaporn’s son in Bangkok otherwise they would assault Ms Yupin. Therefore Ms Nipaporn decided to notify the police.

 

Pol.Maj.Gen.Sanit revealed that after notification they were afraid that the victims might be in danger therefore they were accompanied with the police officers of Nong Kee police station and soldiers to raid that house where they found Ms Yupin. They arrested Ms Tanaporn who was Mrs Ananda’s daughter and Mr Anucha. Upon inspecting Ms Tanaporn she confessed that she and Mr Anucha had kidnapped Ms Yupin and took her to Buriram but they didn’t assault her. Initially the police prosecuted them in act of kidnapping and imprisoning others.
