Walking Street 10-Year Anniversary to Coincide With the Queens Birthday

On August 10-12, 2006, the City of Pattaya will host dual celebrations. The first will be the celebration of Her Majesty, The Queens birthday, and the second marks the 10-year anniversary of Walking Street.

   Siracha News Center – On July 19th 2006, a meeting was held at Pattaya City Hall, which was chaired by the Mayor of Pattaya, Niran Wattasatsathorn. The City of Pattaya is teaming up with Boonrawd Brewery, Extra Ordinary Committee for Walking Street, and Tourism Authority of Thailand to celebrate walking streets 10-year anniversary. The festivities will coincide with Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday. 

  Mr. Somchai Chaichanawongse, manager of customer service for Boonrawd Brewery, informed the guests at the meeting that Walking Street is considered to be the most popular tourist attraction amongst Thais and foreigners. The brewery would like to participate in the festivities to make the occasion as enjoyable as possible. This being said, Boonrawd will donate 500 crates of Singha Light, worth 200,000 bahts, to the City of Pattaya to sell to retailers at a lowered cost. Boonrawd will also host some events such as a game show and a concert to be held from August 10-12.

   The Mayor mentioned that with the assistance and cooperation from the various organizations, the activities that they have planned are going to be spectacular and very interesting. The festivities will consist of many different shows and performances for everyone to enjoy. However, the main activity will be the celebration of Her Majesty, Queen Sirikij’s birthday.
