Volunteer Police Officer Shot Dead

A volunteer police officer was shot dead after telling a driver to park somewhere else.

RAYONG – January 29, 2016 [PattayaDailyNews]; Pol.Lt.Col. Yuthchai Phoroong (Senior Professional Inquiry Official of Mueang Rayong police station) was notified that there was a fatal shooting and a 69-year-old male victim had been killed. The incident occurred at Moo 2 Tambon Nern Phra, Rayong province.

 

At the scene the officers found the body of Mr Samakchai Loymek, aged 69 who was wearing a volunteer police uniform. He had been shot with a .38 mm bullet in the head twice.

 

Upon questioning Mrs. Nudaeng Phukhlongta, aged 50, who was a volunteer police officer told police that she was working with Mr Samakchai (a deceased) in the car park of the Eastern OTOP fair when a black Isuzu Dmax pick-up truck turned up and they told him to park in another place. The passenger then got very angry and started shooting at them before fleeing the scene.

 

The police are now inspecting the CCTVS in order to arrest the shooter and driver so they can be prosecuted according to the Thai law.
