Vietnamese Woman Wanted After Scamming 25 Million THB

The Nakorn Sri Thammarat provincial court issued an arrest warrant for a Vietnamese woman who was able to get away with 25 Million THB from Thai people she had scammed in Thailand.

NAKORN SRI THAMMARAT – September 29, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; An arrest warrant for Mrs. Lo Thi Thanh issued by the Nakron Sri Thammarat provincial court following a 25 Million THB scam.

Police have revealed that they are close on the case and that they’re trying their best to find and arrest Mrs. Thanh. But due to the fact that Mrs. Thanh had flown out of Thailand, police would have a hard time tracking her. Mrs. Thanh’s husband who was directly involved in scam is in police custody after police were able to rescue him from 45 year-old Mr. Jesdakorn, who was a victim of the scam. It was reported that Mrs. Thanh’s husband was detained and tortured in order to have him return the 25 Million THB that was scammed off Mr. Jesdakorn.

Investigators revealed that Mrs. Thanh was a forewoman and translator, she’d contact Vietnamese investors and Thai fruit merchants to do business together. She was said to be able to speak Thai fluently and that she was involved in other scams as well. Mr. Jesdakorn, who a fruit merchant, was scammed 25 Million THB by Mrs. Thanh, making report the scam to local police, but Mrs. Thanh is yet to be found.
