Vietnamese Boats Caught Fishing Illegally

2 Vietnamese fishing boats have been stopped in Thai waters for fishing illegally.

SATTAHIP – December 13th 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 9.30 a.m., Vice Admiral Rangsarit Sattayanukul (First Regional Navy Commander) in position as Director of Thailand Maritime Enforcement Coordination Center Area 1 (Thai-Mecc1) had detained 2 Vietnamese boats which were carrying 28 crew members. They had been fishing illegally 50 nautical miles south of Koh Kood, Amphur Khlong Yai, Trad province.

Vice Admiral Rangsarit Sattayanukul said that had found over 10 Vietnamese boats fishing illegally so he sent out some patrol boats but was only able to stop two because the others had left Thai waters.
