Stripping naked for money has become an annual tradition for Massey University third-year veterinary students.
“It’s something we all look forward to,” said Rosie Keen, 21, one of the students taking part.

In the annual Barely There calendar, the students are mostly naked but have props obscuring particular body parts.
Ms Keen said stripping off in front of her classmates was a “little awkward”.
“But once you get over the initial stage it turned out to be an awesome day.”
Money raised from the July-to-June calendar’s sales will go towards SPCA Christchurch as well as the students’ class trip to Taupo.

Ms Keen said that, with a class this year made up from around the world, the students decided to go with an “international” theme for the front and back covers.

An Irish student had his modesty maintained with a clover leaf, while naughty bits were covered by wine glasses for the French, by English flags for the Brits, and by silver ferns for the New Zealanders.

Inside highlights included a stripped-down version of the Beatles Abbey Road album cover and an army-themed month which involved the students stripping down at the Waiouru army camp.

This is the sixth time the veterinary students have produced the calendar.
