Valuable Items Returned After Pattaya Police Arrest Robbery Suspects

Many valuable items were recovered when Chonburi police tracked down and arrested a gang of robbers who were hiding out in a house in Naklua.

At 5.00 pm, on 31st January, Chonburi Investigator Pol. Lt. Col. Chaigrit Thonginn acted on information he had received about a gang wanted for a series of house robberies in the Banbeung, Chonburi area. He led his team to a house with no number in the Naklua area and seized the robbers while they were sleeping.

At the house police found two men, Mr. Sayun (Pow) Thongma [28], residing at 51 Moo. 5 Banbeung, Chonburi and Mr. Am-nuay (Pae) Guileng [18] residing at 29/1 Banbeung, Chonburi.
They also found plenty of evidence such as 2 digital cameras, 2 video cameras, 1 DVD player, 1 MP3 Player, a gold bracelet, a gold ring, a gold necklace, many watches and over 10 pawn tickets with a total value of 200,000 Baht.

Some of the robbers’ victims were informed and identified their valuables in the suspects’ room.

The two suspects confessed to their crimes and they were taken to Pattaya Police Station for further processing.

Later on, police contacted all victims who had filed reports of robbery and asked them to co-operate by identifying the suspects.

Mr. Dieter Jurgens [67] and Mr. Rener Henkes [50], both German nationals, and many Thai victims had arrived at the station and identified their property. Several of the victims said they were really impressed with the work of the police.
