Two Prisoners Jump From Police Pick-Up In Pattaya

Careless Banglamung police who locked 2 defendants’ with handcuffs in the back of the police pick-up where shocked to see them jump from the truck as they went along the Sukhunvit road in Pattaya.

PATTAYA – October 27, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 3.30 p.m., journalist reported that while Pol.Lt. Monthian Kas-udom (Inquiry official of Banglamung police station, Chonburi province) and Pol.Sub.Lt. Phachern Watfoongfueang (Deputy Superintend who performed duty as a driver) was driving a police pick-up truck that had Mr. Jakkrit Sriwichai, aged 21, a resident of Amphur Phaisalee, Nakhon Sawan province and Mr. Nucha Klinjampa, aged 25, a resident of Amphur Huay Mek, Kalasin province detained in the back who were 2 defendants in the case of stealing property and where being driven from jail to the Pattaya Provincial Court along Sukhumvit road from north Pattaya to central Pattaya.

When they arrived in front of The foundation for People with Disability (PWDs) the 2 defendants jumped from the truck and escaped into the trees located next to the road.. Later the police of Banglamung police station and Pattaya city police station had mobilized forces of over 20 police officers to search for the fleeing defendants but there was no trace of them until the police were informed by a bystander that he met 2 suspicious men who were sitting on a public van route Bangkok – Pattaya. Therefore, the police stopped the van but on inspection it wasn’t the 2 men who they were looking for.

Pol.Col. Tharmmanoon Munkhong (Superintendent of Banglamung police station) revealed that this incident had happened due to the carelessness of the police who were transporting them. However, initially he will give them 3 months to find and arrest the 2 suspects and will set up a committee to investigate the 2 police officers because of their negligence then they will take disciplinary action.
