Two Honda Wave Thieves In Pattaya Arrested

Pattaya police arrested two teenagers aged 15 and 16 members of a gang of motorbike thieves. They claimed that they did not steal the bikes only delivered them to Mr "Big", their friend.

Pattaya, February 6, 2012, [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Capt. Narongdej Tanapoonsin Pattaya police reported that his officers found two teenagers, riding their motorcycles in a suspicious manner.The teens were stopped and checked.

“Odd” age 15, was riding a white 125 Honda Wave without a license plate. The bike had no key. The other teen, “Karn” age 16 was riding a white125 Honda Wave, number Kor Bor Ngor (คบง )– 508 Chonburi. Upon interrogation Odd and Karn said that they were motorbike taxi riders working in Northen Pattaya.

They said, they did not steal the motorbikes, but their friend, “Big” living in Soi Nern Plabwarn had hired them for 100 THB to bring his motorbike to him, claiming that he had forgot his bike key. The suspects said, they had no idea the bikes was stolen until they were arrested.

 

The police wasn’t convinced so they checked the list of lost vehicles and found that a white 125 Honda Wave was reported stolen. The bike had a registration number Kor Bor Bor (กกบ) -68 Sa Kaeo, the owner is Miss Wanpen Sawairam who had reported that her motorbike had been missing since February 1, 2012. She said, she had parked it in front of her apartment in Southern Pattaya.

The second motorbike, also a white125 Honda Wave, number Kor Bor Ngor (คบง ) registration 508 Chonburi that teenager “Karn” rode was also reported stolen. The teenage duo confessed that they had stolen the motorbikes and “Big” had bought them to be used as a motorbike taxis with fake registration plates.

Yesterday, “Big” hired “Karn” and “Odd” for 100 THB to take the motorbike that Odd had parked behind Big C department store and bring it back to him.”Odd” the suspected bike thieve had been arrested earlier for snatching a handbag in Pattaya in 2011.

The police seized motorbikes as evidence and contacted the owners. The police is on the case to arrest “Big” and the rest of the motorbike stealing gang.
