Pattaya 9th July 2010 [Pattaya Daily News] At 11.30 pm Police Lieutenant Colonel Winai Horian (Banglamung Police Investigator) received notification of a car accident that resulted in the death of a man on the Railway Side Road, behind Soi Wat Thamsamaki, Nongprue, Banglamung. The officer along with Sawang Boriboon rescues team rushed the scene to investigate.

At the scene, they discovered a man’s body, Mr. Prasert Phraejai [40] from Uttaradit who drove a motorbike, a black Honda Wave 100. He was wearing a white short sleeved shirt with cream shorts and had sustained serious head injuries, bruising and broken limbs. His passenger Mr. Khuan Phraehai [24], the nephew of the deceased, suffered minor injuries.

Nearby the motorbike which was severely damaged, was jammed under a black Toyota Cammary car that had damage to the front.  The car was being driven by Mr. Piya Karnplook [27] from Sattahip who explained that he was driving towards his home in Sattahip and as he approached the scene, without warning, a motorbike had driven across him, giving him little time to brake which resulted in the fatal collision.

Mr. Khuan Phraejai claimed that before the incident occurred, he and his uncle Mr. Prasert Phraejai went for a drink at a construction workers camp in Soi Wat Nonketyai. His uncle decided it was time to go home and driving the motorbike with himself on the back, approached the scene at the junction. As they were crossing the road, a car driving at high speed hit them causing his uncle to come off the bike and hit the windscreen of the car head on before landing on the road.

Both Mr. Phraejai and Mr. Karnplook will be detained at the station for further investigations, while the deceased will be returned to his relatives for his funeral.
