On 22 November 2007, at 4am, Banglamung Investigator, Police Lieutenant Colonel Kunawut Chainual, Chonburi, was notified that a man on a motorbike had crashed into a railroad crossing barrier. The motorbike rider died on impact. The accident occurred at the railroad crossing on Soi Siam Country Club, Moo 10, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi. A police team and Sawang Boriboon Rescue rushed to the scene.
At the scene, officials discovered the body of Mr.Winai Somprasong (25), who was from 403/1 Moo 9, Bor Norg, Prajuebkirikan Province. The deceased man was a staff member at STM Factory. He was clad in his staff uniform, which consisted of a blue long sleeved shirt and black trousers. There was a pool of blood next to his body, which was face down near the railway tracks. Mr. Winai had sustained injuries on his forehead and skull. His arms were broken, as well. His motorbike, a black and white Honda Click, with a red license plate, was scraped up and overturned on the road. The victim had been heading to the top of Soi Siam Country Club. Officials made a thorough record of the incident and noted that the railroad crossing barriers on both sides had been damaged from the impact.

Bystanders told police that the steel barriers had already come down to prevent vehicles from crossing over the tracks; as the Bangkok bound train was approaching. As the train approached, Mr. Winai sped on his motorbike, attempting to get to work. Apparently, he didn’t realize that the barriers had already come down. He was unable to stop his motorbike in time and crashed into the steel barriers. His motorbike overturned about fifty meters from where he impacted. A Good Samaritan removed Mr. Winai’s body from the railroad tracks and the train passed through. Police will contact Mr. Winai’s relatives and inspect the accident area, including the damaged barriers.
