Thai Man Caught For Impersonating Police Officer

A Thai man was caught after he had been impersonating a police officer while he was dealing drugs around Pattaya.

PATTAYA – March 12,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 15.00 pm Pol.Maj.Gen.Nitipong Niemnoi-commander- was accompanied with Mr.Chakorn Kanjawat-chief district of Bang Lamung-, Pol.Col.Suwichan Yankittikhun-deputy commander-, Pol.Col.Pratchaya Pasansuk-deputy commander-, Pol.Col.Chanapat Nawaluk-superintendent of Bang Lamung police station-, and police officers who made a statement about the arrest of Mr.Polpipat Pratumdang aged 37 who was a big drug agent and he also pretended to be a police officer. He was arrested with 1,800 amphetamines, 152 fake police cards, 346 fake official cards, 26 fake fire arm certificates , 80 stickers from the Department of Provincial Administration, 47 rubber stamps of Royal Thai police, 88 photos of police officers, a laptop, a printer, pirated pistol with ammunitions and a car.

 

Pol.Maj.Gen.Nitipong revealed that the investigation team had found out that Mr.Polpipat had smuggled drugs from the North of Thailand into Pattaya and he also impersonated a police officer. Later an undercover agent reported that he was driving along Soi Tungklomtaman where he was arrested. He tried to say that he was a police officer but they police didn’t believe him. The police officers detained him and took him to his house where they found lots of drugs .

Upon questioning him he confessed that he was grandson of a chief cillage in Bang Lamung district and he had smuggled drugs from Chiang Rai province 2,000 pills each time. He would then spread the drugs around Pattaya because he needed 1.7 million baht to redeem his land. He claimed that he had impersonated a police officer for 3 months and he had learned how to make fake official documents from Google. He added that he wore a police uniform to fool the real police as he was conveying drugs around Pattaya.

 

However, the police officers prosecuted him for possessing drugs and impersonating a police officer and counterfeiting official documents.
