TAT Holds E-Marketing Seminar for Tourism SME’s

At 10.30am, at Ambassador City Hotel, Jomtien, Mr. Suraphon Sawetseranee, Deputy Director of Policy and Planning of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), presided over the opening ceremony of ‘E-Marketing Day for Tourism SMEs 2008‘ seminar. More than 400 on-line business operators in Eastern Thailand attended.

Pattaya, the 25th of July 2008 [Pattaya Daily News]: TAT  held a seminar to educate tourist business operators in IT and on-line marketing to make them more internationally competitive and has received a positive response from the tourist business operators in general.

Previously, TAT created the www.etourisminsight.com website as the information centre on e-marketing for the Thai tourist business and also to be the research centre for information and knowledge. In addition, TAT arranged a seminar entitled ‘Digital citizen…Catch Them if You Can’ in 4 provinces; Phuket, Krabi, Chiangmai, and Bangkok. There were 600 participants at this seminar.

The ‘E-Marketing Day for Tourism SMEs 2008′ seminar included E-marketing strategies for the tourist business operators and executives.

There was also an exhibition of the technology and tools supporting e-marketing for the tourist business, including many special offers from the e-marketing service providers.

The seminar was supported by Kasikorn Thai Bank Co, Ltd. (Public), Tourism Technology Association (TTA), Advance Info Service Co, Ltd. (Public), Gold Blade Co, Ltd., and Chaiyo Hosting Co, Ltd

Apart from this seminar, TAT and the cooperating groups have already arranged seminars in Chiangmai, Phuket, and Kanchanaburi for the future.
