Christopher Neil, 32, a schoolteacher of Maple Ridge, B.C., Canada, is already serving a three-year jail sentence in Thailand after pleading guilty in August to kidnapping and sexually abusing a 13-year-old Thai boy. He had previously been the subject of an Interpol manhunt after computer techies resolved the disguised digital photos.

The originals had been doctored using a relatively simple computer add-on which allows users to distort images in one of the proprietary image handling programs. The alleged paedophile was arrested in Thailand in October 2007 after the resolved images proved to be Neil. Neil arrived at Bangkok’s Central Criminal Court, yesterday, wearing a brown Thai prison uniform with his ankles in chains.

Neil held a magazine in front of his face while waiting in the holding area, in an attempt to hide from the media. Neil is currently being charged with sexually abusing the then 9-year-old brother of his previous victim. He allegedly videotaped the sexual abuse of the minor, who asserted that Neil had paid him between Bt500 – 1000 for oral sex. Neil is apparently also being charged with taking the boy without his parent’s consent and holding him against his will.
