Suvannabhumi Airport Taxis Rejected Rumour

Taxi drivers insisted that they will still serve customers at Suvannabhuni airport after a rumour was being spread that they will not be able to serve passengers.

April – 24,2015 [PattayaDailyNews]; Suvannabhumi taxi drivers insisted to still operate as nominal after a rumour had been spread that 1,700 taxis would been banned from Suvannabhumi airport because of an unfair fare.


Mr.Patthawee Meerad-representative of the taxi drivers insisted that the drivers will still serve customers because it will destroy the image of the country if they stop. Also they had discussed with the chief of the airport about the fare that 4 passengers is the maximum number of passengers a large taxi (van)can carry including their luggage which is the same as a small taxi which is unfair for the van operator.


In addition, the airport had agreed to trial the new rule that a taxi van can pick up no more than 4 passengers and they had already posted this rule for passengers in the airport. Bur the Taxi drivers intended to appeal to the Ministry of land and transportation.
