Thanawat was allegedly accused of shooting dead a 24-year-old man at Kortormor Pub and Restaurant on 25th April 2011.
However, Thanawat denied all charges and confessed his innocence at the police station.

Peerapong, himself and two other friends met Peerapong’s ex-girlfriend dining with her new boyfriend, Premuthai and friends at the restaurant, Thanawat said.

Due to jealousy, Peerapong engaged in a heated argument and fight with Premuthai’s group who wounded Peerapong, he added.

Thanawat confessed that he pulled out a gun and shot into the air three times as a threat but he did not shoot Premuthai as reported earlier.

Based on the suspect’s testimony, Police Colonel, Nuntawut Suwanlaog (Pattaya Police Superintendent) confirmed their speculation that jealousy was one of the factors leading to the shooting.

The officers confiscated the gun as evidence and detained the suspects for further questioning, while issuing an arrest warrant for Peerapong’s two other friends who were also involved in the dispute.

Peerapong and Thanawat both requested for bail in hopes of defending themselves in court
