In the morning, there was a ceremony to bring good luck in the Thai New Year. The Song Kran Festival on Khao sarn Rd has been organised to last 4 days with a 3 million baht budget and supported by Sermsuk Co.Ltd. It’s expected that there will be 100,000 expats during the festival and will make around 200 million baht which is 20% down from last year.

Meanwhile in Loei, Loei city the Loei Chamber of Commerce has erected a foam party which will take place from April 13-15 (14.00-20.00). They have also arranged an area for older people so that they can make a wish for their descendants. Samphan Khoontawe-the mayor of Loei city- said that the Song Kran Festival can connect families from all parts of society. They have also zoned off a water playing area in order to keep security and accommodate the traffic. They have continuously campaigned that it should be celebrated without alcohol; however, some people were selling beer and cocktails behind the stage which lead to conflicts between teenagers.
