The Thailand Tourism Authority office in Frankfurt, Germany have revised their tourism strategy, which included a drive to change the perception of Thailand as not being a safe country to visit. To confirm Thailand as being a safe, peaceful and beautiful country to visit, 12 beautiful contestants of the Miss Slovakia 2011 pageant recently traveled to The Land of Smiles. The Thai and Eastern Europe tourism ambassadors held activities at Suan Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, Pattaya, before the finale to the Miss Slovakia 2011 contest was held.

9th January 2011 [Pattaya Daily News]: Mr. Somchai Chaicharoensin, Senior Marketing Manager of Tourism in Thailand, based in Frankfurt, Germany, and a camaraman traveled to Thailand, accompanied by 12 beautiful contestants of the Miss Slovakia 2011 beauty pageant, and supported by the East European travel agent ESO TRAVEL. Ms Pacharin Sawetrut, assistant to the Director of Thai Tourism, Pattaya Office, welcomed the beautiful ladies to Thailand and then accompanied them on a trip to Suan Nong Nooch Tropical Garden Pattaya, na Jomtien, Sattahip, Chonburi. This provided an ideal backdrop for a variety of photo opportunities of the contestants, including pictures with the ‘stone hand’ in the French garden, one of the wonders of the world, and with Thai elephants.

Mr. Somchai Chaicharoensin described this event as a good opportunity to promote tourism in Thailand, especially for the Authority of Tourism Thailand in Frankfurt, Germany, who are actively trying to restore the image of Thailand as being a safe, peaceful and beautiful tourist destination. By using a variety of different media methods, including TV reporting of the Miss Slovakia 2011 contestants visit, the authority is hoping to regain the confidence of tourists wishing to travel to Thailand, particularly from Europe. Whether it is through introducing the beautiful ladies of Slovakia to Suan Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, showcasing the scenery of Phuket, or marketing any of the other many famous tourist attractions of Thailand, the authority is hoping to prove that Thailand is once again a safe and beautiful tourist destination.

Despite all 12 contestants being very beautiful, there can only be one winner. After canvassing the opinion of a number of tourists, the eventual winner was chosen. Mrs.WZOSOVA MICHASIA, contestant number 6, was voted the most popular overall and crowned Miss Slovakia 2011.
