PATTAYA – March 28,2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 21.00, a journalist reported that Miss Pawanrat Akkrataweewut, 19 years old, a Chaokuay and jumbo sausages seller, came to notify police detectives with document evidence at the Pattaya police station, after she was tricked into transferring money to book a pitch in Pattaya music festival 2014. She lost around 30,000 baht.

Miss Pawanrat, the victim, told the police that, on March 19, she went to sell at Bangyai Nontaburi festival where a person gave her a flyer about booking a pitch in the music in front of Central Pattaya Beach department store for 9,000 THB.

She called the number on the flyer and spoke to a Mr.Payap, to reserve the space; she booked 3 spaces totalling 27,000 baht. She then transferred money to a Bangkok bank account in the name of Mr.Akom who was not on the flyer. Then Mr.Payap called her and told her she can now sell at the music festival and hung up.

When she called back to ask about the reserving document, and wanted to meet up, he turned off his phone, so she knew that she had been tricked. She then investigated it further on her own and found out that Mr.Payap was a municipality officer last year, and several sellers had been tricked, so she went to tell the police.
