Sattahip Police Arrest Cock Fighting Gamblers

Sattahip police have arrested 12 elderly gamblers that where caught watching a cock fight. There were over 30 gamblers but the police only managed to arrest 12 of them.

SATTAHIP – August 16, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 4.00 p.m., Pol.Col. Chonnaphat Nawalak (Superintendent of Sattahip police station) together with Pol.Lt.Col. Pawatchai Sudsakhon (Deputy Superintendent) mobilized forces of the detective police team to suppress (wipe out) a gambling den of fighting cocks at a rented house in Bor Song Ban Tao Tharn community, Moo 8 Tambon Sattahip, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province. The police arrested 12 gamblers who were caught with 6 fighting cocks and also seized 10 motorbikes and 3 cars for inspection.

 

Pol.Col. Chonnaphat Nawalak (Superintendent of Sattahip police station) revealed that after he was notified by some bystanders about the cock fighting he mobilized a police team to inspect the gambling den and found over 30 gamblers, aged between 40 – 80 who were standing watching the cocks fighting but when they saw the police they all tried to flee the scene so the police only managed to arrest 12 of them. The arrested where then sent to the inquiry official at the police station to be prosecuted with an allegations of gambling.

The 12 gamblers were identified as a Mr. Suriya Traikit, aged 26, Mr. Maroot Warothai, aged 71, Mr. Sombat Suay-ngarm, aged 46, Mr. Wuth Homsiri, aged 78, Mr. Wirot Nilsiri, aged 60, Mr. Somnuek Phoomsod, aged 38, Mr. Saichon Khonaban, aged 57, Mr. Thanachot Yuyen, aged 41, Mr. Kamon Saisriyood, aged 59, Mr. Prasert Ampha, aged 69, Mr. Wirachai Suksawat, aged 46 and Mr. Sombat O-tharn, aged 59.
