Russian Caught in Pattaya For Extortion

A Russian transnational criminal has been arrested in Pattaya. He had fled to Thailand using a fake passport after going on the run for extortion.

PATTAYA – June 17, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 17.00 pm. Pol.Col.Sitthichai Lo-kunpai-deputy commander of the immigrant bureau-, Pol.Col.Chaiyod Warakjunkiet-superintendent of Chonburi immigration bureau- and police officers had made a statement about the arrest of Mr Andrey Atamas from Russia who is a transitional villain of Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization) in the act of extortion.

 

Pol.Col.Sitthichai revealed that previously the immigration bureau had been notified from Interpol that Mr.Andrey Atamas had extorted property which was valued about 30 million baht in Russia in 2012. He illegally immigrated into Thailand using a fake passport from the Czech Republic in the name of Mr.Andrej Kristof. He set up Gallery International Co.Ltd which sold property in Pattaya. The police officers had investigated him and arrested him at Thaiwatsadu store. Initially the police prosecuted him in act of using a fake passport before transferring him back to Russia.
