Rush to evacuate 660 flood victims to Chonburi

The provincial governor of Chonburi with his staff has welcomed the flood victims from the Don Mueng rescue center to Chonburi Education center.

Pattaya, [Pattaya Daily News]; Mr. Vichit Chartpaisit, the provincial governor of Chonburi together with Mr. Pakkarathorn Thienchai, Deputy of the Provincial Governor and local government organizations welcomed the flood victims that had moved from Don Mueng rescue center to Chonburi.

The government has mobilized forces to rush to assist people that faced a flood problem. The water had already passed into Viphavadee Rangsit road in front of Don Mueng Airport so the victims had to be relocated to Chonburi province.

 

Mr. Vichit Chartpaisit revealed that Chonburi province had set up the Operation Center for flood rescue which can cater for a total of 10,000 people. The Education Center, Chonburi branch can contain 4,000 people and on October 25, 2011 at 10.00 p.m. there were 660 that came from Don Mueng travelling on 18 public buses. Space for 4,000 flood victims in the Sport School Chonburi province, Institute of developed workforce section 3, Chonburi for 500 people, Wat Khao Bang Sai school for 200 people, Ruamjaichol pavilion for 1,000 people, Police training center section 2 (Khao Noi) Tel. 081-830-3322 for 200 people, Wat U-taphao for 1,000 people, Education and Develop municipal Chonburi for 300 people, Khao Khiew Animal Zoo for 2,000 people.

 

The office of protection and relief public disaster, Chonburi is the operation center for those who wishto stay in these centers can call 038-278031-2 or at the governor of Chonburi province Tel. 038-282-585, 038-271-272.
The provincial governor of Chonburi province also said that they are ready to assist in any aspects including security, food, electricity and water and telecommunication. Anyone who wants to donate consumer products can come to the Sport Institute, Chonburi branch or contact Ms. Suphaporn 089-157-7159 or Ms. Surinrat 081-864-9987.

Mr. Maroot Jirasetthasiri the doctor of public health, Chonburi province revealed that they had prepared to assist people by asking the hospital to look after the victims and if there are any severely injured patients to send them to Chonburi hospital immediately. Chonburi hospital has prepared 10 beds but can increase up to 20-30 beds.

Mr. Veeravat Yomjinda, the owner of local music station TV Thai will bring singers such as Tik Sheero, Sek Loso and many more to play at a concert on October 30, 2011, at the rescue center for the victims, Sports Institute, Chonburi Branch starts on 1.00 p.m. and will have a live broadcast on channel 9 from 2.00 p.m. onwards.
