Road rage in Pattaya Locksmith Pulls Gun at Foreigner

“Aek” a known Pattaya locksmith got drunk. Drove his pickup and was allegedly "cut" by a foreigner on a motorbike. "Aek" pulled his BB gun and threatened the foreigner.

Pattaya, November 21, 2011[Pattaya Daily News]; Pol. Capt. Somchai Chaikananukul, Pattaya police was notified about a road-rage case involving a foreigner riding a motorbike and swerving in front of a Toyota Vigo pickup truck license plate KOR ROR-2726 Chonburi driven by a Thai drunk locksmith who threatened the biker by pulling out what looked like a pistol to scare the foreigner . Thereafter the locksmith drove off – direction South Pattaya.

Later, the police found the Vigo pickup truck parked in Soi Yensabai, South Pattaya. The police detained the driver Mr. Voraphut Dulyasit aka “Aek”, locksmith, age 42, address: 193/320 Moo 10, Banglamung.

Upon inspecting the pickup truck the police find one BB gun, black color hidden inside pickup truck. Mr. Voraphut still drunk confessed that he got mad with the foreigner who swerved in front of him.

He said he only used the BB gun to scare the foreigner. However, the police didn’t believe him. Because Mr. Voraphut is known to always carry a weapon.

The police searched the area where the pickup truck was parked and found the real weapon hidden under a table in a building nearby, a CZ 75B automatic pistol, caliber 9 mm with 11 cartridges in the magazine.

Mr. Voraphut confessed that it was his pistol. He said he has a firearms license. He added that he always carries the pistol but he didn’t use it to threaten the foreigner, he used only his BB gun.

The police is looking for the foreigner but has not yet found him. The police arrested Mr. Voraputh charged with brandishing a BB gun. Further investigations will follow and Mr “Aek” will be prosecuted according the Thai law.
