PDRC closed toll way many tourists to miss flights

The guards of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) at Chaeng Watthana road closed Don Mueang tollway causing Thai and foreign tourists to walk down the toll way with their luggage to the airport. Many tourists missed their flights.

May 9, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; There was a video clip of the guards of the PDRC attacking and assaulting a driver who was using the toll way. Mr Surasak Sowatthanangkul, aged 27, who is training to be a pilot and his mother went to notify the police to prosecute the attackers Thoong Song Hong police station. Monk Buddha Issara apologized to them and said that the PDRC will be responsible for the damage.

Later on May 10, 2014 there were photographs and video clips of the PDRC’s guards that closed the toll way and cars and taxis weren’t allowed to use the toll way so passengers who were on their way to the airport had to get their luggage and walk down the toll way to Don Mueang airport. There were many women and small children who also had to make the walk to the airport which caused heavy criticism on social network sites that it was an extremely inappropriate act that will impact the image of Thailand.
