ATP Tennis Tournament, World Ranking, “Volvo Women Open” titled to “Pattaya Women Open” respondent to Pattaya, the host of this major event. Pattaya has budgeted 6 million bahts to support on the Tournament plan, in view of the fact that this forthcoming event will boost up our reputation, commencing in February next year.

          25 October 2005, Mr. Nirant Wattanasathorn, President of Pattaya, on behalf of Pattaya City and Thailand, welcomed Mr. Jeffrey Rowe, Executive Director of Pentangle Promotion Co. Ltd. for an occasion to confer on the arrangement of Tennis Tournament “Pattaya Women Open 2005”.

          For 14 consecutive years, Pattaya has hosted this tournament in the name of “Volvo Women Open”, with many of World Tennis players participated in and this important event has long built up, of Thailand and especially Pattaya, reputation on Sports and Tourism.

          Mr. Nirant said that this year event has been changed its title from “Volvo Women Open” to “Pattaya Women Open” by the reason of an expiration of the contract to Volvo Car Corporation. However, this Tennis Tournament is considered as a major World ranking tournament that as well enhances our image and reputation.

          Accordingly, Pattaya City has continued to organize this remarkable event by funding 6-million-baht budget in order to support and sponsor for the winning prizes, which will be organized in February 2006 at Dusit Resort, Pattaya.

          Hereafter, there will be meetings among those advocates who support this major sport event for making even better and more interesting of the tournament than ever in the past.
