Pattaya Wanna Be Drifter Steals a “Cefiro”

Pattaya police, Chonburi, arrested a 24-year-old man who pretended to buy a Nissan Cefiro and took the car out for a test drive and disappeared.

PATTAYA – May 3,2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Col.Thamanoon Mankong,Pattaya police station Chonburi and Pol.Lt.Col. Wittaya Yuenyong crime were setting up routine check points to prevent crime in the area.

The police were patrolling when they reached Green Groove Hotel junction at the middle of soi Korpai, M 10, South Pattaya, they saw a modified green Nissan Cefiro, registration number 4 thor (ธ) 3113, Bangkok. The car was driving at high speed, so the police followed the sedan.

Later as the police searched the vehicle they did not find anything suspicious but from the police records, they saw this car had been reported as a stolen in Banglamung police station. The vehicle was driven by Mr.Worawoot Suttiprapa, 24, so the police called the victim to come and identify the vehicle.

 

The victim was Miss Chatchadakorn Mesap, 26, she said that on April 30, around noon, Mr. Worrawoot came to her to buy the car for 250,000 THB at the government village Nakluea.

Before Mr. Worawoot received the key for the test drive he said that he had wanted this car for so long because it was the perfect vehicle to modify to use for drifting. But the test drive took too long and when he did not return, Miss Chatchadakorn knew that she had been tricked. She went to the police.

Mr.Worawoot confessed that he did it because every time he saw teenagers driving modified cars he was envious, so he contacted Miss Chatchadakorn. The police was not convinced.

Mr. Worawoot is charged with theft and was sent to the Banglamung police station to be prosecuted under the Thai law.
