Pattaya Teenage Gang Shoot Up And Scratch Car After Owner Refuses Race Challenge

In the early morning of May 24, 2008, a Pattaya race-mad teenage gang was so miffed that a man had refused to have a car race with them that they shot up and severely scratched his car in a fit of pique. The car owner, after refusing the race challenge, had nonchalantly left his car in the parking lot of Noir Pub and gone into the pub with friends, only to come out to find the crazed teens had shot it to bits.

Pol.Col.Prateep Thongdee, Pattaya Investigator, received a phone call at 6am on May 24 informing him that a teenage gang had shot up and seriously damaged a car in an empty parking space opposite Noir Pub, Soi Petchtrakul and accordingly sent an investigative team.

The police found Mr.Tas Insee (37), the car owner from Nongmaidang, Chonburi, and his friends, waiting to show the officers the damage to his bronze Nissan Cefiro. They found evidence of 11 gunshot holes on the front and the left-hand-side rear doors. The left wheel was also punctured. In addition, the car had been scraped by a hard object all round.

Police searched the area and found four spent 9mm pistol cartridges. Mr. Tas told police that he had been challenged to a race by a teenage gang with a car that had been race-modified outside the Noir Pub at around 11pm. However, he was not acquainted with the gang and declined the challenge. He had then parked his car in the pub car park and gone into the pub for a drink with friends.

Emerging from the pub early in the morning, he was shocked to see that his car had been shot up and scratched all round, so he reported the matter to the police. There were no witnesses at the incident when it had occurred. Police further inspected the car and took photos of the damage and made a thorough report. The further investigation will be performed to search for the vengeful gang as soon as possible.
