Pattaya Remand Prison Raided By Officials

Pattaya officials have raided Pattaya remand prison in order to search for illegal items. This is the 3rd inspection since the NCPO had taken over the country.

PATTAYA – September 18, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 07.30 am at Pattaya Remand Prison Mr.Nattapong Aenuy-acting director of Pattaya Remand Prison-, Pol.Col.Thammanoon Munkong-superintendent of Bang Lamung police station- and officials inspected the prison in order to search for forbidden items such as sharp weapons, scissors, lighters and gambling items.

 

Previously police officers and prison officers had inspected Pattaya Remand Prison. The officials had inspected around 4,000 prisoners (males and females) and performed random drugs test on about 300 of the inmates. However all the inmates tested passed the drug test.

Pol.Col.Thammanoon revealed that this was the 3rd inspection after NCPO had controlled the country. There was no illegal items found such as drugs, cell phones or any other type ofweapons found in the prison. However the officials will periodically inspect the prison in the near future.
