Pattaya Pharmacies Found Selling Illegal Drugs

The Public health of Chonburi coordinated with tourist police to check 36 pharmacies in Pattaya and found 3 shops selling illegal psychotropic drugs.

3PATTAYA – November 27, at 23.00 , medical Doctor Wuttikrai Suksurakarn, doctor of Chonburi provincial public health office, investigated that there was some pharmacies in Pattaya, illegally selling psychotropic drug, so he coordinated with Pol.Lt.Col. Supaseth Chokechai, vice commander of tourist police, with Pol.Lt.Col.Arun Prompan, detective tourist police, to bring customer protection officers, pharmacists, public health officers, tourist policemen, to spread out across the city to inspection all the suspected 36 stores.

From checking, they found that there were 3 pharmacies secretly selling psychotropic drugs or sleeping pills, they were Bua Khao pharmacies, D&D pharmacies, and 168 Bhesaj, they seized, 735 purple tablets of Alprazolam 70, 58 tablets of Xiemed, 30 tablets of Diazapam (Valium).

Doctor Wuttikrai Saksurakarn, the doctor of Chonburi provincial public health, revealed that there were more cases about tourists getting drugged found and some of them died that has ruined the tourism here, most of them were transgendered women, they usually bought, Alprazolam drug or drug ” Xanax ” in some drug stores in Pattaya, and mixed it with drinks.

They arrested 3 modern drug store owners selling drugs, with evidences, the Xanax was the psychotropic drug type 2, it had to be sold with a medical doctors prescription only, if you eat it in a row for a long time, it made you got addiction, if stop using it immediately, it caused withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, insomnia, rapid heart rate, depression, mental or mental disorder, even convulsion. If anyone is caught selling it they would be imprisoned for 5-20 years and a fine of 100,000 to 400,000 baht .
