Pattaya Motorbike Taxi Driver Viciously Attacked, Losing Hand

A motorbike taxi driver in Pattaya was viciously attacked by his enemy, near Big C, N. Pattaya, on August 4, 2008. He sustained very serious injuries, having been being stabbed, hacked all over his body and had his hand chopped off. Unfortunately, doctors could not reconnect his hand as the wound was too severe

At 09.10 PM on August 4, Pol.Lt. Aniwat Thi-charn, Pattaya, Chonburi, was notified that there was an injured patient who was severely injured at Pattaya Memorial Hospital. Police duly rushed to the hospital and found Mr. Yanothai Boongtham (31), from Nonthaburi province, a motorbike taxi driver, working in front of Larb restaurant, near North Pattaya traffic lights, had sustained serious injuries all over his body, and also to his neck, and back and had had his left hand chopped off. He was in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

Doctors checked the x-ray of the wound to his wrist and reported that his hand could not be reconnected as the injuries were too severe. Doctors immediately sent Mr.Yanothai to Chonburi Hospital so that the specialists could examine the wound again to see if there was any hope of reconnection.

Police were told that Mr.Yanothai, the victim, had been riding his motorbike to see a friend at a tattoo shop, behind Bpothives Traditional Thai massage, near Big C, North Pattaya. After he had parked his motorbike, a Mr. “A”, from a Pattaya Beach teenage gang, who had a long standing dispute with him, lay in waiting and then when he arrived, viciously attacked the taxi driver by knifing him many times all over his body. Mr. Yanothai sustained extremely bad injuries and his left hand was hacked off, and he fell in a pool of blood, unconscious, after which Mr. “A” had run away. After the incident, his friends had taken Mr.Yahothai to the hospital.

Police are searching for Mr.”A” , the brutal attacker, but there is still no sign of him.
