Pattaya Fire Dept Rush to Extinguish Germans Room Fire

Police and fire services were called to fire in a rented room in Naklua Pattaya which took one hour to extinguish.

Pattaya, 8th April 2010: At 12.10 am police Lieutenant Colonel Phongsawat Wongwan, Pattaya Police investigator received a report of a house fire in  Soi Naklua33, Pattaya Naklua Road, Banglamung. The officer along with 3 fire engines and their crew rushed to the scene of the fire.

On arrival, they discovered one room in a single storey residential block 22/2, Moo 5, Naklua, Banglamung well alight. The firemen managed to contain the fire so it did not spread to the rest of the building, taking one hour to extinguish.

It was discovered that Mr. Siggy Sedlur [47] a German national, was the tenant of this room who worked as an insurance sales man in Germany. He claimed that before the incident occurred he went out, coming back at 11.00pm to find his room on fire.

The officer inspected the room after incident to find several items badly damaged, but luckily no one had been injured.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Wongwan stated that the cause of the fire was presumably an electricity fault, in addition to this it was discovered that an adapter had many electrical items plugged in. The value of the damage was estimated at 300,000 baht. Subsequently Mr. Sedlur was invited to the police station for further interrogation.
