Pattaya [Pattaya Daily News] (May 29, 2012) Mr. Chaowalit Saenguthai, Banglamung sheriff, Chonburi province together with Mr. Amnaj Jaroensri, assistant district office, Mr. Pongsit Pitjanan, and Civil Defence Volunteers of Banglamung District and a Pattaya police team headed by Pol. Col. Thammanoon Munkong, raided a “high-low” or “roll the dice” and a football gambling den located in a one story building address: 403/12 and 403/13 in Soi Chalermphrakiert 23 or “Soi Excise”, Third Pattaya road, Banglamung, Chonburi province.

The police believes that they were tipped off before hand that there is going to be a raid that’s why the police didn’t find any gamblers nor the owner of the den.

On the premises the police found only Mr. Issarak Wangkamollas or “Tae” age 21.

The police arrested him and seized various gambling equipment: two sets of iron rectangle tables for “high-low” or “roll the dice”, four pieces of “high-low” scores, dices, 159 sheets and lists of foreign football betting, and 368,010 THB in cash.

The police also found one Smith & Wesson pistol, caliber .45 with six cartridges, one 32 inch TV, one computer, one printer, one fax machine, one DVD player, one CCTV unit, one small printing machine, one adaptor, one digital camera, one cold water dispenser, balance sheet and many bank deposit books.

The total value of the seized articles is about 1,000,000 THB.

The police also found name cards: “Chalarm High-Low High-Tech” (open 24 hours, Soi Buakhao with mobile telephone numbers: 081-2093748, 087-9237132)

The name of the tenant renting the “gambling den” building is Mr. Somsak Teawtaisong, address 200/493 Moo 4, Nongrahaeng, Ladloomkaew, Pathumthani province. The rental contract is dated October 11, 2010. The rent: 200,000 THB per month which was paid on the 11 of every month.

Upon questioning Mr. Issarak or “Tae” he said that he didn’t know who is the owner of the den.

However, he said was ordered by Mr. “D” to get the keys and lock the building before the arrival of the police. The police didn’t believe Mr. “Tae”. The police assumes that Mr. “Tae” is the caretaker of the den.

The police confiscated all the items as evidence and Mr. “Tae” is to be investigated and prosecuted at Pattaya police station.

The police believes that this den had been open for a long time. The den had been operated by a person who has the power and influence and spies inside the police force, that’s why they all could escape the before the police came.

The police will question the owner of the building regarding his involvement with this illegal gambling den.
