Officials to Cope With DroughtPBTA (Pattaya Business and Tourism Association) have discussed with the waterworks of Pattaya about a ways to cope with the possible drought in 2016.
PATTAYA-10th December- [PattayadailyNews] at the Grand Sole hotel, PBTA held a conference with East Water, Pattaya waterworks in order to discuss about the countermeasure to cope with a drought in 2016.
Mr.Sutad Nuchpan- director of Pattaya waterworks- revealed that the water in 5 reservoirs consisting of Mab Prachan, Chaknok, Huaykhunchit, Huaysaphan and nongKlangDong should contain 39.92 million square meters but they have only 19 million.
At the beginning of 2015, the water levels were a problem; however, the Vamco storm hit the east of Thailand and filled the empty reservoirs to around 77 % of the capacity.
Mr.Sutad said that Pattaya city consumes a large amount of water. Pattaya consumes 70 million square meters each year but the water in the reservoirs is only 40 million square meters.
The officials have now installed pipes to drain the water from reservoirs in Rayong province to Pattaya.
