Officials To Cope Taxi Problems

Officials held the discussion in order to cope the problem that the taxi drivers have exploited the passengers.

PATTAYA – FEBRUARY 9,2016 [PattayaDailyNews]; Pol.Maj.Gen.Warattanachai Srirattanawut- deputy commander of police region 2- chaired the conference of the policy to control taxi operator in Pattaya after the government has ordered Royal Thai Police to cope the problem. The conference was attended by police, soldier, administrative officers and private sector.

 

The official has been complained by the people that the taxi drivers have exploited the customers because they didn’t pick up the passenger, didn’t record the meter, collected overrated fare, didn’t drop the passenger at the destination and acting impolitely. These acts badly affect to tourism industry. Those 300 taxi drivers from 6 operators attended the conference.

 

Pol.Maj.Gen.Warattanachai said that the official would intensely cope these problems during a couple months especially the drivers who don’t record the meter, don’t have driving license, don’t have taxi card and park in prohibited area.

However, the operators also complained that the fare is no fair for the driver due to the recession. In addition, those taxi drivers in Bangkok served the passengers off their area. However, the department of land transportation would be in charge to cope the problem.

 

Pol.Maj.Gen.Anpol Buarabporn- commander of Chonburi province- said that the official would have to deal with the number of the taxi cabs and the fare would have to be revised too. In addition, there have been illegal taxi cab that those mafia in local area owned it.

 

In conclusion, they agreed that the driver would have the sticker on their car so that the passengers would be able to complain the hot line 1337 when they have any problem.
