Officials Crack Down on Taxi Riders

Chonburi officials and relevant sectors have set up checkpoints to check for taxi riders who still haven’t registered with the local authority.

CHONBURI-Recently- [PattayaDailyNews] According to the case that Mr.Komsan Aekachai- governor of Chonburi- had set a new policy to control motorcycle taxi riders. The officials had nominated a committee to control the riders combined with Bang Laung administrative officers, police and soldiers.

 

On 18th November, Mr.Pongthasit Pitchanan- deputy chief of Bang Lamung- and officers had set up checkpoints to enforce the new rules, they focused on riders who were breaking the rules. Upon inspection the officers found out that some riders still hadn’t registered with the officials so they were prosecuted and received a fine.

 

Mr.Pongthasit revealed that the officials had to set up the checkpoints to enforce the unregistered riders to do so and will be continuing to set up checkpoints in the near future. However, the officials said that there have been more than 5,000 riders who have registered.
