Navy GMC Truck Tailgates Car Causing Crash In Sattahip

A navy GMC truck which was on its way to dump a load of rubbish tailgated a car and hit it causing the truck to lose control and tip over. The car passengers were unharmed but the 8 sailors on the truck were injured, one of them severely.

SATTAHIP – October 14, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 3.00 p.m., Pol.Capt. Saijai Khamjulla (Inquiry official of Sattahip police station) was notified that there was an accident involving a navy GMC truck which had lost control crashed and overturned and there were 8 injured victims. The Incident occurred on an entrance route to Ban Chang Sa Mae Sarn community nearby Nong Kra Jong village, Moo 4 Tambon Sa Mae Sarn, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province, so he rushed to inspect the scene together with rescuers of Sawang Rojjana Tharmma Satharn Sattahip Foundation.

At the scene the officers found a 6-wheel GMC truck, license no. Sor Mor Or 41827, which belonges to the 2nd Navy Police Battalion, Sattahip Naval Base. Nearby the truck the officres found 8 seamen who were identified as Seaman Aphisit Narmmoong, aged 22 (a driver), Seaman Theeraphat Prayoonkham, aged 22, Seaman Panya Thiawkhao, aged 22, Seaman Thossphon Ngao-patch, aged 22, Seaman Arthorn Khannark, aged 24, Seaman Sa-ney Thueakphia, aged 24 and Seaman Jenrob Karoonkorn, aged 21, all of them were slightly injured, and there was 1 severely injured who was identified as Seaman Songserm Prasert, aged 22, he had a severe wound to his head and had suffered broken arms and legs.

 

Initially, the rescue team had performed first aid on for him before sending him to the Queen Sirikit hospital. About 15 meters far from the truck there was a white Honda Accord car, license no. Kor Or – 3355 Chonburi, it had sustained damage to the rear bumper and Mr. Therdsak Krutnoi, aged 35, was the driver with Miss Atchara Khutnoi, aged 32 his wife and a 6-month-old son. None of them were injured and were stood waiting for police.

Upon questioning Mr. Therdsak Khrutnoi, who was the car driver, he said that while he was driving taking his family to pay respects to the Buddha at Khao Luang Phor Dam temple in Sa Mae Sarn community there was a navy GMC truck (that was taking garbage to be discarded at a garbage well) driving close behind him which hit the back of his car causing the truck to lose control and overturn.
