PATTAYA – December 2, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 1.30 p.m. Pol. Col. Supphachai Phuikaewkham (Superintendent of Banglamung police station) together with Pol. Lt. Banyat Mawan (Deputy Inspector) and forces of a police team from Nongkate Yai sentry box went to inspect a house with no address in Soi Nongkate Yai 12 Moo 1 Tambon Nong Plalai, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province after they had complaints from the local people that there was the monk behaving inappropriately.

Upon arrival the police found a monk who was eating rice in front of the house, he was identified as monk Phol Thanawano, his hometown was in Nakhornsawan province. The officers found a lot of offerings, food and water that the local people offered to this monk. Monk Phol claimed that he came to see his relatives and he stayed at Jittaphawan College, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province. The police didn’t believe him so they inspected his urine and found that it was a violet colour but monk Phol refused that he hadn’t consumed drugs. So the police sent his urine to be tested in detail at Banglamung hospital and found that the violet urine was due to drug consumption so he was sent to be prosecuted according to Thai law.
