Mechanic Beaten Up After Raping Woman

A mechanic attempted rape to a woman but was not successful and was assaulted by the woman's neighboors. The mechanic consumed alcohol and drugs making him not conscious of his actions. He tried to rape a woman but was not successful. He tried to escape the nearby villagers that chased and lynched him after they were aware of his actions.

PATTAYA – May 11, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 03:20 AM Police Senior Sergeant Major Chatchai Rukkwamchob, Head of the Police box Talo. They were notified that there was an attempted rape incident at an un-named residence. The residence is at house number 2/8 M.9, Banglamung district, Choburi province. After the police were notified they went onto investigate at the crime scene.

When the police arrived at the crime scene the suspect was already held by the neighbours. The suspect has been identified as Mr. Wichit Chanjam, aged 39 from Nakhon Phathom. The suspects hands and feet were tied up by the villagers, his cheeks were also bruised. He was also heavily drunk and couldn’t communicate properly with the police.

As the victim Ms. Praew (alias), aged 43, was asleep sleeping with her niece, she felt something on her neck. When she opened her eyes she saw the suspect commanding her to take off her clothes as the suspect tried to rape her.

As she was taking off her clothes, she quickly grapped the weapon off the suspect. She tried to fight the suspect but the suspect was stronger than her. The suspect then grabbed her neck before kicking her in the face several times. Luckily, Ms. Praew’s next-door neighbour came in to help her. The suspect panicked as soon as he saw the neighbours and ran away. But he couldn’t go far as the nearby villagers chased and captured him.

Mr. Wichit, the suspect told the police that he is a car mechanic and works in a nearby garage. Before the incident he drank heavily and drove to the victim’s apartment. Mr. Wichit is now in police custody and will await further charges.
