Jet Ski Stand Owners Partially Returns Money To Indian Tourists

The jet ski stand owners partially returned money to the 2 medical students from India who were fined an excessive amount money by them after they lightly damaged their rented jet skis. The incident was previously reported on PDN.

PATTAYA – June 6, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 03.00 PM, the 2 Indian tourists who were fined 1,400 USD for damaging their rented jet skis, got their money back partially. The two Indian medical students rented a couple of jet skis from a jet ski stand, but when they had collided with other which damaged the jet skis, they were confronted by 5 men who demanded them to pay a damage fee of 1,400 USD or 42,000 THB. As soon as they paid them the fine, they asked the police for help, as the money that was demanded was to excessive for them.

The case of the two indians progressed on June 6 when the police summoned the jet ski stand owners for questionings. The four owners of the jet ski stand agreed to return over half of the money that they had demanded from the two Indians. 25,000 THB was handed to the police in order to pass the money to the two Indians.

One of the stand owner said that the two Indians rented two jet skis for 10 minutes in a rent fee of about 150 THB for each jet ski. But when the two Indians were on their way to return the jet skis, they collided with each other, which made the jet ski owners angry and request them the excessive fee.
