Sriracha, the 24th of June 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: On Thursday night, Sriracha Police Investigators were notified of a suspected murder-suicide at a local service station in Bangphra, Sriracha. Reporting the incident to Colonel Montri Rodprani (Sriracha Police Superintendent) a team of officers was duly dispatched to the incident to investigate.

At the scene, a single story building attached to a private service station, officers discovered the deceased bodies of two people, now known to be Mr. Nium Pitchanok [54] and his wife Miss Ramphai Pholsamak [42]. Both were lying on the floor suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. Initial speculation was that the incident was the result of a murder-suicide.

Chon-Buri Forensic Investigators were called to the scene, performing several trajectory tests which confirmed that Mr. Pitchanok had indeed shot his wife in the back of the head before he himself committed suicide by shooting himself in the temple. Gunshot residue found on Mr. Pitchanok’s hand provided further confirmation of these findings.

Police collected two shell casings found in the vicinity of the two deceased bodies, whilst the 9mm pistol used in the murder-suicide was found lying next to Mr. Pitchanok.

A friend of the now deceased couple stated that they had recently been arguing over Miss Pholsamak’s frequent social outings with friends. Mr. Pitchanok was described as being a jealous partner who was angry about his wife’s most recent dalliance where she left for 3-days without informing him.

The Sawang Pratheep Foundation of Sriracha subsequently took the two deceased bodies to the Au Udom Hospital where post-mortem examinations will take place. Police now speculate that Mr. Pitchanok had killed his wife in a jealous rage before committing suicide over her death or the thought of apprehension.
