Indian’s Caught Using Fake Credit Cards

The Transnational Crime Coordination Centre (TCCC), Chon Buri province, arrested 4 Indian men that used fake credit cards to buy branded named products in Pattaya city.

PATTAYA – January 18, 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 1.00 p.m., Pol.Col. Sukthas Phoomphanmuang (Superintendent of Pattaya city police station, Chon Buri province) together with Pol.Lt.Col. Pawatchai Soodsakhon (Deputy Superintendent), Pol.Lt.Col. Chitdecha Songhong (Deputy Superintendent of Na Jomtian police station) who assists work of Transnational Crime Coordination Centre (TCCC), Chon Buri Province, and forces of the police team together made a statement about arresting 4 defendants with an allegation of using fake credit cards which consisted of : Mr. Kapil Sharma, aged 32, Mr.Sahil Sharma, aged 26, Mr.Narinder Kumar, aged 34, (all of these 3 defendants were Indian nationality) and Mr.Sudhir Kumar, aged 31, also an Indian person, Canadian nationality, with exhibits of 26 fake credit cards, 1 sheet of code information in magnetic strips containing fake credit cards, many sales slips and goods that were bought by using the fake credit cards such as clothes, perfumes and mobile phones which totalled over 100,000 THB retail value.


Pol.Col. Sukthas Phoomphanmuang revealed that previously he was informed from officers of Kasikorn Bank, Pattaya branch, that there was a group of foreign men using fake credit cards to buy goods in various department stores in area of Pattaya city which most of victims were in foreign countries. Therefore, he commanded Pol.Lt.Col. Chitdecha Songhong (Deputy Superintendent of Na Jomtian police station, who assists work of Transnational Crime Coordination Centre (TCCC), Chon Buri Province, and the detective police team to investigate this case until the officers found the 4 defendants that were responsible for the fraudulent use of credit cards. The defendants were arrested trying to buy mobile phones at Jaymart shop on the 3rd floor of Central Festival Pattaya Beach department where officers arrested them with exhibits of some fake credit cards detained them to their rooms at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Pattaya beach road, in order to search and seize all other exhibits.


Upon investigating all defendants which they confessed that they bought such fake credit cards from an Australian man via the internet with price of 1,000 rupee or approximately 500 THB. They came to Thailand and used the fake credit cards to buy brand name goods at Pattaya city in order to take them for reselling in India.


After initial investigation the police charged all defendants with allegations of cooperating to use counterfeiting fake credit cards for every part of each credit card or only any part of them, adding or shortening or modifying texts in genuine credit cards by any reason and together using or possessing to use for anything that acquired with the acknowledgement that it was fake or counterfeited.
