Honeymoon in Thailand

Many people are quite shocked when they start itemizing things in the process of planning their wedding. They start by making lists of what is required, adding what they themselves would like as extras and the number of people, though not necessarily in that order. Once the list is complete then the realization sets in as to the costs. The cut backs start by shortening the guest list, then the little luxuries that add to their special day, with many leaving out the honeymoon as a means of having the wedding of their dreams.

Finding time to arrange a honeymoon in this modern, hectic world can be virtually impossible. You could hire a travel or events-planner, but the costs would be better utilized towards the actual holiday, so start planning early, leaving plenty of time to shop around for the best deals. You can enjoy the best day of your life and still have the honeymoon of your dreams without putting yourself in debt, with a budget honeymoon that is just as romantic and full of excitement as one that would normally break the bank.  Traditionally, the honeymoon should be planned by the groom, though these days it is a decision made by both partners .

When plans for your wedding reach the honeymoon stage, keep in mind that the purpose of the trip is to provide quality time together and time to connect with each other after all the stress you’ve both had prior to the big day. It is not necessary to rush around. Worries about the weather, the right venue, and the rapidly rising costs of ceremonies, receptions and honeymoons, together with any social and personal expectations can all add unwanted pressure.

Regardless of what the travel industry would have you believe, honeymoons do not have to cost an arm and leg. There are a number of ways to have that romantic honeymoon without spending months or years paying it off.

Another option is to have an exotic wedding and honeymoon combined.  Thailand is definitely the place to consider, with options from Buddhist weddings to marrying under the sea! Many couples are looking to escape the pressures of weddings and have someone else do the hard work. Your wedding day is personal and something to look back on in years to come. Thai staff are well trained with a wealth of experience and dedicated to making your wedding exactly as you want it, after which you can honeymoon in the same place you got married or go off on exotic cruises round the numerous islands, especially in Thailand’s south.

All-inclusive package holidays are an option to consider if you are on a budget, as they include airport taxes, transfers charges as well as all fees, meals, activities, and entertainment at the hotel, minimizing costs without the frustration, but honeymoons in exotic locations with sun, sand, and blue seas can be realized if chosen carefully. Your only concerns should be the comfort of yourselves, nice friendly staff to refill your glasses and simply sitting back remembering why the two of you got together.  Cheap honeymoons don’t have to be lacking in fun, romance or excitement.

There are always very good deals on flights and hotels, if booked on the Internet. Booking your hotel yourselves will generally cost far less than booking at the same time as your flight. There are numerous things to see and do in Thailand along with so many bargains. The main thing to remember is, Thailand is the ‘Land of Smiles’, blue skies and continuous sunshine. Just picture yourselves lying on the white sandy beaches in the sun looking at the blue seas, snorkeling or diving around the islands or just lounging by the pool and lush gardens with a beer or cocktail in your hand.

If you feel the need for a change from lazing about, there are places to explor, both in and around Thailand, with many trips and tours on offer to nearby islands, some being quite secluded. There are animal parks to visit with rides on the back of the gentle elephants, (don’t forget to take along some bananas) or further inland elephant trekking is the in thing.

For those of you who like to shop, there are markets by day and by night, with bargains galore for those cheap gifts to take home with certain places arranging postage and packing, if the item if on the large side.

Food plays an important role in the Thai culture with spicy and non-spicy varieties from different parts of Thailand being available to titillate your palate at very reasonable prices and any time of day or night.  European food is also available for those who are not too adventurous, with an array of exotic fruits and desserts that will have you going back for more. When the day is over and you need to relax, visit the massage parlour for a relaxing foot massage or the popular Thai massage.
