PATTAYA – June 15, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Col. Tharmmanoon Mankhong (Superintendent of Banglamung police station), the detective police team of Banglamung police station and forces of the navy from Sattahip Naval Base, together inspected a shooting incident involving a taxi cab and some local people in Soi Sukhumvit Pattaya 37, Moo 6 Tambon Na Kluea, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

At the incident the officers found 1 yellow-navy blue taxi cab, license number Thor Khor-382 Chonburi, which belonged to Pattaya Loma Taxi Cooperative. It had been shot once with an unknown size bullet and it had pierced through the roof inside the cab. Mr. Nakharin Sootthison, aged 40, the cab owner was standing waiting for police. Also a Thai restaurant address 130/4 Moo 6 Tambon Na Kluea, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province was also shot several times by the gunman and Miss Arthittaya Maneerat, aged 24, who is the owner of the restaurant was also standing waiting for the police.

Mr. Nakharin (the taxi cab owner) told the officers that he had parked his cab but suddenly he heard the noise of gun fire so he rushed to see what had happened and found that his cab had been shot but he didn’t know why. He also added that several months ago his cab was shot at while it was parked at his house in Soi Chaiyapruek.

Miss Arthittaya (a Thai restaurant owner) said that while she was cooking food she heard gun fire and saw 2 male teenagers riding a motorbike and the gunman was wearing a white T-shirt and a cap and when they seen her looking at them they shot at her 4 times.

Initially, the police assumed that the cause of this incident might be a personal problem between the culprits and the taxi cab owner or it might be to threaten the ex-Chairman of Taxi Cooperative who had just been terminated. The police are now looking for the gunmen to prosecute them according to Thai law.
