In a survey conducted in 2009, 65% of the respondents aged 12 – 60 said they didn’t want to see alcohol in the baskets, with 85% preferring health products, according to Deputy Public Health Minister, Dr. Phansiri Kullanartsiri. This compares to the fact that in 2008 about half of all gift baskets sold contained alcohol.

Provincial public health offices nationwide will be monitoring sales and offenders have been warned they face a fine of up to 10,000 baht and/or 6 months in prison.
