Good Citizens Hand Over 94,000 Baht To Police

Pattaya, 4 May 2011 [Pattaya Daily News]: At 11.00 p.m., two men arrived at the police station and reported the cash found to Police Sub-Lieutenant Chaiyut Benjanukorn (Pattaya Duty Investigator).

Somsak Satiplan, 39, and Weera Poonsook, 50, handed over 94,000 Baht to the police in hopes of locating the right owner of the cash.

Somsak said he found the money at the Siam Commercial Bank’s deposit machine in North Pattaya Tesco Lotus superstore when he was trying to make his 6,000 Baht deposit.

According to Somsak, he was very surprised to find 94 of 1,000 Baht banknotes in the deposit box, which was open for him to make his transaction after he had inserted his card and entered his pin.
He decided to consult his boss, Weera about the situation.

Both decided to report the cash to the police, Weera said.

The police will detain the money until the right owner is found
