Gay Snatcher Steals Elderly German Man’s Wallet in Pattaya

An elderly German man had his wallet taken by a gay man who tried to befriend him. The thief was caught as he tried to flee by some Central Festival security guards.

PATTAYA – November 10, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 4.30 a.m., Pol.Capt. Somchai Chaikhananukul (Deputy Inspector of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi province) was notified that there was a snatching incident involving a tourist’s in Soi 9, Pattaya beach road, Moo 9 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, so he rushed to inspect at scene together with forces of police team.

At the incident the police found security guards from Central Festival Pattaya Beach department store were detaining a trouble maker who was identified as Mr. Chalermsak Ma-thao, aged 25, which Mr. Joachim Peter, aged 53, German nationality was the victim.
Mr. Joachim told the police that Mr. Chalermsak walked up to him and tried to befriended and stole his wallet which contained some important documents and 1,600 THB. He then shouted for assistance before security guards from Central Festival Pattaya Beach department store apprehended the thief.

Upon questioning Mr. Chalermsak (a trouble maker) he said that he rented a booth selling goods in the area of Central Festival Pattaya Beach department store and when he seen the German man he decided that he was going to rob him. The police detained Mr. Chalermsak and sent him to the inquiry official to be prosecuted further according to Thai law by charging him with an accusation of snatching other people’s property at night.
