Foreigners Dying in Phuket due to hot weather

Hospitals in Phuket have reported to police that there have been 3 foreigners who have died from the same symptoms. The hospitals believe the deaths are due to the high temperatures combined with alcohol consumption.

PHUKET-April 15, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 19.00 pm. Pol.Maj.Patthapi Srichai- investigator of Katoo Police Station- was notified from Pathong hospital agent that a foreigner had fainted on the beach and was sent to hospital. The doctors had tried to save his life for an hour but he passed away. The dead man was Mr Kiselev Igor- 59 year old Russian. It’s expected that he’s fainted due to the hot weather so they have already informed to Russian Embassy.

In addition Emergency team of Pathong hospital had tried to save a 45 year old Cambodian labour who had also fainted. Unfortunately the team couldn’t save him. After that Mr Walter Ferderick Bell-62 year old unidentified nationality- was sent to the hospital in the same condition and later died. However, these 3 men had suffered the same condition which was fainting before they passed away. It’s expected that they died because of the very hot weather (38-41 degree Celsius) combined with drinking a lot of alcohol.
