Chon-Buri, the 26th of December 2009 [Pattaya Daily News]: Police Colonel Teerapol Jindaloung, Chon-Buri police Deputy Commissioner revealed to the press that over the last 7 days police from Chon-Buri – in coordination with Pattaya and Sriracha investigators – have been working around the clock in order to catch the murderer responsible for the meat cleaver double homicide. Col. Jindaloung stated that a composite sketch of the suspect had been released to residents and businesses of the area in an attempt to identify and arrest the man. The sketch has been created from an eye witness description given to police during their investigations.

Col. Jindaloung has stated that the suspect is approximately 21-23 years old, 165cm tall and speaks a central Thai dialect (not a southern or northern Thai). The witness stated that they had seen the suspect upfront and even had a conversation with him, shortly after he had committed the heinous crime.

The witness (name withheld) explained that he/she had walked into the fishing shop in order to purchase some fishing hooks. When an unknown man came forth from the rear of the premises he/she asked to speak to Mrs Viphaporn (shop owner and victim). The murderer explained to the witness that Mrs Viphaporn was out for the day and that he was left in charge. Thinking nothing of it the witness purchased the hooks and left, later finding out the events that had occurred at the shop earlier in the day.

Officers were informed by the witness that the murder – during their brief conversation – did not appear anxious or nervous in any way, stating that he was actually quite polite and helpful. The witness assumed that the man was a friend or relative of Mrs Viphaporn and had no reason to suspect anything untoward had occurred.

Chon-Buri, Pattaya and Sriracha police have now begun distributing the composite sketch of the suspect to hospitals, government offices, shopping centers and various businesses and residences of the Chon-Buri area. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of the suspect they are to contact Sriracha Police Station on; 038 311 112. There is consequently a 50,000 baht reward for any information given that leads to the arrest of the vicious murderer.
