Fire Burns Coffee Factory

A fire at a coffee factory in Chonburi may have been caused by an employee who forgot to turn off a coffee roaster machine. It took 20 minutes for the fire brigade to bring under control.

PATTAYA – October 31, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 6.30 a.m., the police of Nong Prue police station, Chonburi province, were notified of a fire at a coffee factory which belonged to the Royal Coffee Co., Ltd. located at No. 138/95 Soi Wat Boonsamphan or Khao Noi, Moo 10 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, so the police coordinated with the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation of Nong Prue municipality (to request for 3 fire trucks) and rescuers of Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn Foundation, Pattaya city.

 

At the incident the officers found some smoke was emitting from a room which is used for roasting coffee and the coffee roaster was on fire. Therefore, the officers of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation of Nong Prue municipality sprayed water on it to extinguish fire which took around 20 minutes to bring under control.

 

Mr. Herbert, aged 60, a German national who owns the company said that an employee called him to inform him that the factory was on fire. He also said that the cause of the fire maybe because one of his employees forgot to turn off the coffee roaster which generates lots of heat. The total cost of the fire is approximately 100,000 THB.

 

After initial investigation then the police made note for evidence and will investigate it further to find the actual cause of the fire.
