Finnish Contractor Cum Fraudster’s House and Condo Seized in Pattaya

Pattaya Police with a search warrant seized luxury house belonging to a Finnish contactor accused or 1,000 million THB fraud in Finland.

PATTAYA – June 7, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Lt.Col. Parksuwat Chomthanom, acting chief of Chonburi transnational crime suppression and prevention center and Pol.Capt.Samruai Saman – vice inspector of immigration police, Banglamung police and Finnish police officers armed with a search warrant inspected house # 386/103 in Central Park Village 2, Sukhumwit Rd., Middle Pattaya. The owner Mr.Hannu Tapani Torpstroem, a 64 year-old-Finnish citizen is convicted for fraud in Finland. Mr. Torpstrom was arrested last year by the Finnish police.

At the a luxurious two-story house the police found Mrs.Pissamai Natardthong, 42-year-old Thai woman from from Kalasin, North Eastern Thailand, Mr.Torpstroem’s wife.

Inside the police found a bank book, financial statements and many other documents which were all seized as evidence.

Mr.Torpstroem’s house was seized including assets worth approximantly about 10 million THB.

Mr.Torpstroem had gone back to Finland for a year and he had been sending his Thai wife 10,000 THB every month. Mrs. Pissamai said she she did not known that he had been artisted.

Pol.Lt.Col. Parksuwat said that in August 2011, Mr.Torpstrom the contractor, was arrested for fraud in Helsinki, Finland, because was contracted to build a road worth two million EUR or 1,000 million THB. But he withdrew the money and did not build the road but fled to Pattaya in 2009 and bought a house and two condominiums.

The Finnish police is working closely with the Thai police as the case with the Finnish contractor cum fraudster progresses.
